Reign (2013-2017)(Seasons 3-4)

Created by Laurie McCarthy & Stephanie SenGupta

Seasons: 4

So let’s pick up where we left off. Mary (Adelaide Kane) doesn’t trust Louis (Sean Teale) and Francis (Toby Regbo) and Mary have found back to each other. During a “cute” compilation of Francis and Mary, we figure out that this cuteness might not last. Mary has no clue that her husband might die. Finding herself a widow, Mary struggles to find a foot in France as she is not their queen anymore. A new underaged King is crowned with Catherin de Medici (Megan Follows) as his regent. Also introduced in this season is the new queen of England Queen Elizabeth of England (Rachel Skarsten). This Queen plots against Mary, fends of marital prospects and, and deals with her love interest Robert Dudley (Charlie Carrick). So that pretty much sums up the third season. Back in Scotland Mary finally claims her throne and tries to regain power in her country, but the infamous John Knox (Jonathan Goad) tries to take that power for himself. The tension between Mary and Elizabeth skyrockets when Mary decides to marry Lord Darnley (Will Kemp) a catholic English man with a claim to Elizabeth’s throne, in the hope of taking England for herself. Back in France Catherine has to protect her son Charles (Spencer MacPherson), the King of France, from her ambitious daughter Queen Leeza of Spain (Anastasia Philips) and her son Henri of Valois (Nick Slater). The show ends with Mary dying and finding her way back to Francis.

Again great show loved it, but I did prefer the first to seasons because of the storyline. I feel like the four seasons are cut into half with the first and second season being one story and the two last ones are another story with a transition that makes no sense. This is still my favorite show.

The Philosophy of Coffee (2018)

Written by Brian Williams

Brian Williams explains the history of life elixir coffee. First explaining the debut of coffee to how it’s going to evolve in the future while still keeping the humor flowing. This book explains how coffee is made, the start of coffeehouses, and the implication of the sitcom Friends in the development of coffee and coffeehouses in the UK. This book covers every aspect of coffee.

I fell in love with this book the moment I saw it sitting on the shelf. I’m a huge coffee-lover and I found it very interesting to learn how coffee developed in the years. This is a fantastic book for every person interested in learning about coffee. There is a sequel with the theme Tea, so if you want me to check it out and give a review to that, just leave a comment.

Reign (2013-2017) (Seasons 1-2)

Created by Laurie McCarthy & Stephanie SenGupta

Seasons: 4

Mary, Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane) was engaged to Prince Francis (Toby Regbo) since they were six years old. After some time in a convent, she is brought back to the French court. They encounter several problems on their way to marriage including Francis’s bastard brother Sebastian (Bash) (Torrence Coombs), but eventually, they manage to put their differences aside and get married, but even then their problems aren’t solved because Francis’s mother Catherine de Medici (Megan Follows) is constantly plotting and backstabbing. At the end of the first season, the plague is back in France and Francis and Mary face probably the biggest problem they will have in their relationship. Coming back with a bastard child Mary finds herself in conflict with herself. After the plague, there is a hunger that spreads in France. Trying to find a solution to the problem Francis and Mary get themselves in problems and have to bend to a lord and they will have to continue bowing to him for a good part of the show. On his way back with his bastard son, he encounters his cousin Louis Condé Prince of Navarre (Sean Teale) who helps him through the country. Louis meets Mary and the sparks fly. After a tragic incident, Mary seeks comfort from Francis but he sees how Mary and Louis interact and gets jealous so he pulls away from mary at the time she needs him most so you feel like they are going to need a whole other season to find back to each other, but the process is accelerated when Louis commits a terrible mistake and Marys does not trust Louis anymore.

I have never seen Adelaide Kane in any other movie nor series, but she instantly became one of my favorite actresses. She is so beautiful and portrayed Mary so well. Her voice is southing and swift in a way that you just want to listen to her forever.

I only wrote about two seasons, but i’ll do the other two in the near future. I loved loved loved this show and I watched it like 3 times but it never gets old. The plots and twists are really great. This is a great show that you can find on Netflix.

Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone (2001)

Directed by Chris Columbus

Written by J.K. Rowling

Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) is an 11-year-old boy who lives at his horrible Aunt Petunia (Fiona Shaw) and his Uncle Vernon (Richard Griffiths). They also have a son that is just horrible to Harry. One day something magical happens to the family and Vernon decides to leave their home at 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey and go somewhere where magic can’t touch them, but unfortunately magic is everywhere and Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) finds them to take Harry to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. To get ready for that they go to Diagon Alley. That evening Harry asks some questions as to why he has been staying at his aunt and uncle’s house for most of his life and first hears the name Voldemort (Richard Bremmer) or as you might know him: He who must not be named. On his way to Hogwarts, he meets Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermoine (Emma Watson). Upon arriving in Hogwarts Harry meets Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton). They start living and getting used to Hogwarts, but on Halloween, the first incident happens and Hermoine is in danger. After that, they have some problems with their potions teacher Professor Snape (Alan Rickman). During the year they find a secret in Hogwarts that they cannot ignore and go to solve it.

During the filming of the movie Daniel Radcliffe was only 11 years old and I think it’s just brilliant. And that also counts for the rest of the child cast.

This used to be one of my favourite movie series. It went so far that my parents banned Harry Potter for a year. I think this was one of the worst movies in the series, but none the less it was ok.

Blended (2014)

Jim (Adam Sandler) is a single dad with three daughters and he works at Dick’s Sports store. Lauren (Drew Barrymore) is a single mom with two sons and works at Closet Queens with her friends Jen (Wendi McLendon-Covey). Jim and Lauren first meet on a blind date that goes terribly and they meet again in a store but exchange their credit cards so they have to change them back and while doing that get quite a surprise. They are going to Africa on a honeymoon trip planned for somebody else. During that trip, Jim and Laure start developing feelings for each other but their relationship takes a turn. In the end, they manage to overcome it.

Adam Sandler is that kind of person that you can watch for hours and not get tired of him. He is just so funny. He acts really well to.

I must say I have never seen Drew Barrymore in any other movie, but I absolutely loved her in this movie. She acts in such a fun and fresh way that it really encourages one to watch more.

This is one of my absolute favorite movies of all time because it is so darn funny and so weird. The family love that is captured in this movie is so moving and nice. The acting is great too. I love the fact that the kids are so fun and some of the other characters are so cringe-worthy. I just absolutely love this movie.
