Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)

The Order of the Phoenix is a secret organization founded by Albus Dumbledore (Michael Gambon). They inform Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) that the Ministry of Magic is not acknowledging that Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) is back. At the Order’s headquarters, Harry’s godfather, Sirius Black (Gary Oldman), mentions that Voldemort is after an object he did not have during his previous attack.

Once they are back at Hogwarts, Harry learns that the Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge (Robert Hardy) has appointed a new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor: Dolores Umbridge (Imelda Staunton). She and Harry immediately have beef, and she punishes Harry for his “lies” by forcing him to write “I must not tell lies” with a magic quill that scars his hand. When Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) notice Harry’s scars they are like hell no, but Harry doesn’t want to go to Dumbledore because he’s Harry Potter and he will save the world anyway and who anyway has distanced himself from Harry since the summer. As Umbridge’s control over the school increases to like the HBIC Cheryl of Hogwarts, Ron and Hermione help Harry in forming a secret group to train students in defensive spells ’cause that’s apparently what we do these days, calling themselves “Dumbledore’s Army” even though Dumbledor hasn’t given to craps about the students over the year. Umbridge recruits the Slytherin students to expose the group. Meanwhile, Harry and Cho Chang develop romantic feelings for each other, finally.

Harry has a vision involving an attack upon Arthur Weasley (Mark Williams), from the point of view of Arthur’s attacker Nagini (the snake). Concerned that Voldemort will exploit his connection to Harry, Dumbledore tells Severus Snape (Alan Rickman) to give Harry Occlumency lessons which basically means Snape is supposed to drill in Harry’s mind and tells him to block him out of his mind, to defend his mind from Voldemort’s influence. The connection between Harry and Voldemort leads Harry to further pull back from his friends. Meanwhile, Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter), Sirius’ deranged Death Eater cousin, escapes from Azkaban along with nine other Death Eaters, so bravo to the dementors. At Hogwarts, Umbridge and her Inquisitorial Squad expose Dumbledore’s Army. Umbridge becomes the new Headmistress and Harry’s relationship with Cho falls apart, as he thinks she snitched on Dumbledore’s Army.

Harry has another vision, this one of Sirius being tortured by Voldemort. Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Neville, and Ginny fly to the Ministry of Magic on Thestrals in an attempt to save Sirius. The six enter the Department of Mysteries where they uncover a prophecy and Voldemort wanted that prophecy. However, they are ambushed by Death Eaters including Lucius Malfoy (Jason Isaacs) and Bellatrix Lestrange. Harry refuses to give Lucius the prophecy, and a fight between Dumbledore’s Army and the Death Eaters begins. The Death Eaters take everyone except Harry as hostages, threatening to kill them unless he surrenders the prophecy.

Harry obliges just as the Order arrives. As they attack the Death Eaters, Lucius drops the prophecy, destroying it. Just as Sirius overpowers Lucius, Bellatrix kills Sirius. Voldemort appears, but Dumbledore arrives through the Floo Network just before Voldemort can kill Harry because why not.

A duel between Voldemort and Dumbledore ensues, destroying much of the Atrium and Bellatrix escapes. Ministry officials arrive before Voldemort disapparates; Fudge is forced to admit that Voldemort has returned and resigns as Minister in disgrace. Umbridge is removed from Hogwarts and Dumbledore returns as headmaster.

Love Actually (2003)

This movie is actually divided in scenes and plots with different characters in all of them.

Billy Mack and Joe

With the help of his longtime manager Joe (Gregor Fisher), rock and roll legend Billy Mack (Bill Nighy) records a Christmas variation of The Troggs’ “Love Is All Around”. Although he thinks the record is terrible, Mack promotes the release in the hope it will become the Christmas number one single, which it does. After briefly celebrating his victory at a party hosted by Elton John, Billy goes to Joe’s and comprehends that Joe is in need of affection and suggests that he and Joe celebrate Christmas by getting drunk and watching porn.

Juliet, Peter, and Mark

Juliet (Keira Knightley) and Peter’s (Chiwetel Ejiofor) marriage ceremony is recorded by the best man, Mark (Andrew Lincoln). Although both Juliet and Peter believe that Mark doesn’t like Juliet, it is the contrary really. Mark loves her and is deeply saddened as she marries Peter. When Mark evades Juliet’s requests to see the video he made at the wedding, she pays him a visit. She says she wants them to be friends and, when she finds and watches the wedding video, it turns out to be just close-ups of her. On Christmas Eve, Juliet answers the doorbell to find Mark carrying a boombox playing Christmas songs and large cue cards, on which he has written, without expectation of reciprocation, that he loves her. As he walks away, Juliet runs after him to give him a quick kiss before she runs back inside.

Jamie and Aurélia

Writer Jamie (Colin Firth) is pushed by his girlfriend (Sienna Guillory) to attend Juliet and Peter’s wedding alone, as she is ill. He returns between the ceremony and the reception to check on her and finds out that she is having an affair with his brother. Heartbroken, Jamie withdraws to his French cottage, where he meets Portuguese housekeeper Aurélia (Lúcia Moniz), who does not speak English. Despite their problems in communication, they become attracted to each other. When Jamie returns to England, he realizes he is in love with Aurélia and begins learning Portuguese. He returns to France to find her and ends up walking through town with her father and sister, gathering additional people as they walk to her job at a restaurant. In broken Portuguese, he declares his love for her and proposes. She says yes, as the crowd erupts in applause.

Harry, Karen, and Mia

Harry (Alan Rickman) is the managing director of a design agency. Mia (Heike Makatsch) is his new secretary. Harry is happily married to Karen (Emma Thompson), who stays at home bringing up their children. He becomes increasingly aroused by Mia’s awkward sexual behavior at the office and does nothing to stop her. At the company Christmas party held at Mark’s gallery, Harry not only asks if Mark is Mia’s boyfriend but also dances closely with her. While at the shops, he calls her to find out what she wants for Christmas and ends up almost caught by his wife buying an expensive necklace from the jewelry department thanks to the salesman Rufus (Rowan Atkinson). Later on, Karen discovers the necklace in Harry’s coat pocket and thinks it is a gift for her. When she finds a similarly shaped box under the tree on Christmas Eve, she is heartbroken to find it is a Joni Mitchell CD and realizes that the necklace was meant for someone else. She confronts Harry and asks him what he would do if he were her.

David and Natalie

Karen’s brother, David (Hugh Grant), is the recently elected Prime Minister. Natalie (Martine McCutcheon) is a new member of the household staff at 10 Downing Street. During a meeting with the U.S. President (Billy Bob Thornton), David runs into Natalie and the president makes some weird comments about Natalie’s body to David. Later, David walks in on Natalie serving tea and biscuits to the president, and the President making a move on Natalie. Natalie seems ashamed, but the president has a grin on his face. At the following joint press conference, David makes a statement to the press about the President basically telling him to bugger off. Finding that his relationship with Natalie has become awkward and a distraction, David has her moved to another job. However, he is touched on Christmas Eve when he finds a Christmas card from Natalie telling him that she is his and no one else’s. After a door-to-door search of her street, he comes across Mia, who tells him that Natalie lives next door. The entire family is on their way to a school Christmas play and he offers to drive them so he can talk to her. After Natalie sneaks him in to the school, he runs into his heartbroken sister Karen, who believes he is there for his niece and nephew. As David and Natalie try to keep from being seen and watch the show from backstage, they finally kiss. All their hiding is for nothing, however, as the curtain rises and they are seen kissing by the whole school.

Daniel, Sam, and Joanna

Daniel (Liam Neeson), Karen’s close friend, mourns the recent death of his wife, Joanna, as he tries to care for his stepson Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster). Sam has fallen for a classmate, also named Joanna (Olivia Olson), and, after a discussion with Daniel, he decides to learn to play the drums so that he can accompany her in the big finale for their school’s Christmas show—the same school that Karen and Harry’s children are in. After Sam feels that he missed his chance to make an impression on her, Daniel convinces him that he must try to catch Joanna at the airport, before she returns to the US, and tell her how he feels. Sam runs away from the airport security and catches up with Joanna, who acknowledges him by name and kisses him on the cheek, thereby revealing that she does like him.

Sarah, Karl, and Michael

Sarah (Laura Linney) first appears at Juliet and Peter’s wedding, sitting next to her friend Jamie. She is an American who works at Harry’s graphic design company and has been in love for years with Karl (Rodrigo Santoro). They finally connect at the firm’s Christmas party and he drives her home. As they kiss, Michael, her mentally ill brother, phones from a mental care facility. The evening turns out to be a disaster. Both are working late on Christmas Eve but Karl just wishes her a Merry Christmas. Sarah calls Michael and goes to see him, sharing her Christmas scarf.

Colin, Tony, and the American girls

After unsuccessfully attempting to woo English women, including Mia and Nancy (Julia Davis), the caterer at Juliet and Peter’s wedding, Colin Frissell (Kris Marshall) tells his friend Tony (Abdul Salis) that he plans to go to America, convinced that his Britishness will be an asset. Landing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Colin meets Stacey (Ivana Miličević), Jeannie (January Jones), and Carol-Anne (Elisha Cuthbert), three attractive women who fall for his English accent and invite him to stay at their home, where they are joined by roommate Harriet (Shannon Elizabeth).

John and Judy

John (Martin Freeman) and Judy (Joanna Page) are professional stand-ins for films. They meet for the sex scenes in a film for which Tony is a production assistant. John tells Judy that “It is nice to have someone he can just chat to.” While the two are perfectly comfortable being naked and simulating sex on-set, they are shy and shy off-set. Carefully pursuing a relationship, they attend the Christmas pageant (involving David and Natalie, Harry and Karen’s children, Daniel and Sam, etc.) at the local school with John’s brother.

Epilogue

One month later, all of the characters are seen at Heathrow Airport. Billy tells Joe that his Christmas single has spurred a comeback. Juliet, Peter, and Mark meet Jamie and his bride, Aurélia. Karen and the kids greet Harry, but Karen’s reaction shows that they are struggling to move past Mia. Sam greets Joanna, who has returned with her mother from America, and Daniel is joined by his new girlfriend Carol and her son. Newlyweds John and Judy, heading off to their honeymoon, run into Tony, who is waiting for Colin as he returns from America. Colin returns with Harriet and her sister Carla (Denise Richards), who greets Tony with a hug and a kiss. Natalie welcomes David back from his flight in view of the press, indicating that their relationship is now public. These scenes dissolve into footage of actual arrivals at Heathrow.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)

One day in school, they can not find the Fat Lady (Dawn French), and as they find her, they find out that the dog is a renowned prisoner that escaped the wizard prison Azkaban Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) is in the school so they have a slumber party in the Great Hall where Harry overhears some professors talking about him and decides to make further inquiries. Sometime later he encounters a man that is supposed to be dead and finds out that the big dog is actually also s family friend supposedly the man that killed his parents. But is he really the bad guy?

We are not going to talk about the hair situation. The actors are great as always.

Personally I hate the movie. Everything’s is just wrong about it. The story is a bit weak. I just overall didn’t like the first three movie but out of the three I this movie is probably the best because there is more action.

The Hunger Games (2012)

The Hunger Games are organised annually by the government to keep the district inline. Each year there is a day called the Reaping when all the names of the children between 11 and 18 years old are put into a bowl and one girl and one boy are pulled to go to the Hunger Games, knowing that their chances of coming home are very low because in the end only one can come out as winner and may the odds be ever in your favour…

Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is a 16-year-old girl that lives in District 12, the poorest district. On the day of the reaping, she is chosen to go to the Hunger Games with a boy named Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). During the process of preparing for the Games, they meet the other Tributes and Careers. Once in the game, the goal is to survive. Will they…

After this movie, Jennifer Lawrence became one of my favourite actors. She is so talented and so funny. She portrayed Katniss so well. The expressions were on fire, and the acting was great.

Overall this was a great movie based on a great book. They really brought the book to life. I loved the movie. The intensity was great and each shot was telling a story of it’s own. I really recommend this movie for YA but it might be too brutal for younger folks. Never the less this is a great movie.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)

Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) is back at the Dursley’s. He instead makes a mess of it because of a weird creature called Dobby (Toby Jones) appears and gives him very unsettling news, but luckily Ron (Rupert Grint) and his brothers Fred (James Phelps) and George (Oliver Phelps) are here to save the day by bringing him back to the Burrow, and Harry spends the rest of the summer there, but on the way back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Harry and Ron encounter some significant problems and upon arriving at Hogwarts they are threatened to be expelled by none other than Professor Severus Snape (Alan Rickman). Professor McGonagall (Maggie Smith) saves the day and so the year begins. Throughout the year there are some weird incidents that concern Muggles. As Ron’s little sister Ginny (Bonnie Wright) disappears they know they have to act fast. When Hermione (Emma Watson) is touched by it Harry and Ron are on their own to try and solve the mystery. So they go to find this mysterious creature but they get haunted by an old acquaintance….

The acting is great for all of the actors. Maggie Smith is, as always, perfect. Sadly we lost the actor of Professor Dumbledore (Richard Harris) between two movies.

This isn’t my favourite movie of the series. It’s just not very interesting, in my opinion. The storyline is good, but it feels a bit rushed.

Circle (2015)

Directed by Aaron Hann and Mario Miscione

The Circle is a psychological movie about a group of people that were taken by aliens and have to play a game with a lot of plot twists. The game is built in a cruel and sociopathic way. There isn’t really a main character in the movie until the end. He, in the end, tricks the week and feeble minds of the last contestants into loosing so that he could win. It’s a movie that shows how cruel a man can be. It shows the true colors of human beings.

All actors do a really good job in acting out the desperation of the characters.

I didn’t really love nor hate it honestly. It’s a good movie with a bit of a thriller side of it but not something I would watch a million times.

Sorry for this short review, but I haven’t had a lot of time so I’m very sorry.

Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone (2001)

Directed by Chris Columbus

Written by J.K. Rowling

Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) is an 11-year-old boy who lives at his horrible Aunt Petunia (Fiona Shaw) and his Uncle Vernon (Richard Griffiths). They also have a son that is just horrible to Harry. One day something magical happens to the family and Vernon decides to leave their home at 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey and go somewhere where magic can’t touch them, but unfortunately magic is everywhere and Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) finds them to take Harry to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. To get ready for that they go to Diagon Alley. That evening Harry asks some questions as to why he has been staying at his aunt and uncle’s house for most of his life and first hears the name Voldemort (Richard Bremmer) or as you might know him: He who must not be named. On his way to Hogwarts, he meets Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermoine (Emma Watson). Upon arriving in Hogwarts Harry meets Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton). They start living and getting used to Hogwarts, but on Halloween, the first incident happens and Hermoine is in danger. After that, they have some problems with their potions teacher Professor Snape (Alan Rickman). During the year they find a secret in Hogwarts that they cannot ignore and go to solve it.

During the filming of the movie Daniel Radcliffe was only 11 years old and I think it’s just brilliant. And that also counts for the rest of the child cast.

This used to be one of my favourite movie series. It went so far that my parents banned Harry Potter for a year. I think this was one of the worst movies in the series, but none the less it was ok.

Blended (2014)

Directed by Frank Coraci

Jim (Adam Sandler) is a single dad with three daughters and he works at Dick’s Sports store. Lauren (Drew Barrymore) is a single mom with two sons and works at Closet Queens with her friends Jen (Wendi McLendon-Covey). Jim and Lauren first meet on a blind date that goes terribly and they meet again in a store but exchange their credit cards so they have to change them back and while doing that get quite a surprise. They are going to Africa on a honeymoon trip planned for somebody else. During that trip, Jim and Laure start developing feelings for each other but their relationship takes a turn. In the end, they manage to overcome it.

Adam Sandler is that kind of person that you can watch for hours and not get tired of him. He is just so funny. He acts really well to.

I must say I have never seen Drew Barrymore in any other movie, but I absolutely loved her in this movie. She acts in such a fun and fresh way that it really encourages one to watch more.

This is one of my absolute favorite movies of all time because it is so darn funny and so weird. The family love that is captured in this movie is so moving and nice. The acting is great too. I love the fact that the kids are so fun and some of the other characters are so cringe-worthy. I just absolutely love this movie.

Megamind (2010)

Directed by Tom McGarth

Megamind (Will Ferrell) comes from another plant and so does Metro Man (Brad Pitt). As they arrive on earth, they are put in very different settings. Metro Man arrives in a wealthy household and Megamind arrives in quite the opposite. They both go to the same school where their characters start to flourish. After that, it’s pretty much how you expect it to go. It’s Megamind vs. Metro Man in Metro City. On a very special day in Metro City, Megamind comes up with a plan to take down his opponent and to everyone’s surprise, it actually works and from there on Megamind rules the city. Once all the fun is done, he doesn’t see how to continue, so he transforms into Bernard (Ben Stiller) and he and Roxanne (Tina Fey) develop a relationship. The only one against that is Roxannes Cameraman Hal (Jonah Hill) who has always had a major crush on Roxanne. And one day Megamind has an Idea that is meant for fun for him but ends up causing a lot of damage. During there problems, they discover the truth about what happened to Metro Man.

I haven’t seen any movies with Will Ferrell, but I must say that I liked it. He has this undertone when he is sarcastic, which makes the movie that much better.

I loved loved loved this movie. It’s so funny and creative. It’s so great. I was laughing so badly for most of the movie. This movie is just great.
